When I was pretty young, my dad and I were running errands around town and we stopped at the local Fleet Farm (a Midwest thing). After my dad parked the truck, we walked through the parking lot to the store and talked about the things that fathers and sons talk about, we laughed and talked some more. As we approached the front of the store, my dad was a few steps ahead of me (most likely due to the unequal father/son leg ratio) and when the automatic doors opened for us to enter, he turned to tell me something undoubtedly profound and life changing. However, before the words could come out, he walked right into the center divider pole and nearly destroyed Jimmy and The Twins. As my dad dropped to his knees in misery, I doubled over in a fit of laughter and we both had to wipe the tears from our eyes.
I never did find out what it was that he was going to tell me or how it would have changed my life, but twenty-some years later as I look back, I realize that I did take a bit of wisdom from that day.

Sometimes when you least expect it, life will drop you to your knees.

I never knew that. Poor Dad! It's hilarious...but I'm sure HE didn't think so at the time.

Is this where you're quote comes in,
"Never tell everything you know"?
